JOIN US FOR A PUBLIC EXHIBITION SHOWCASING PLANS FOR A NEW "LANDSCAPE-LED" HOUSING SCHEME IN ONGAR.
Dear Resident
This Land and City & Country would like to welcome local residents to a public exhibition to provide the community with an opportunity to comment on plans to build new homes on land at West Ongar, referred to as the ‘West Ongar Concept Framework Plan’.
The first stage in the process is to agree a Concept Framework Document with the District Council, which agrees high level principles for the sites. The allocated site is split into two parcels, known as Parcel R1 and Parcel R2.
This Land and City & Country intend to deliver a landscape-led housing scheme with a mix of tenures and public open space, with footpath and cycle links to encourage sustainable travel. We would be delighted if you are able to attend the public exhibition which will be held at: The Kings Head, 177 High Street, Chipping Ongar, CM5 9JG on 11th September 2024, starting at 2pm and finishing at 7pm.
It will enable us to collate feedback on the proposals and will be used to inform the design of the proposed scheme.
The proposals have also been published online at westongarpublicconsultation.co.uk, inviting feedback alongside the public exhibition, and will be live for 30 days after the launch of the consultation.
The next steps following the exhibition:
Consider feedback received from the public exhibition today and from the online feedback form.
Continue to liaise with Epping Forest District Council and update the Concept Framework Document as required following the public consultation feedback.
The Concept Framework document, which agrees the key principles for the site, is to be endorsed by the Local Planning Authority.
Developers to work towards the submission of planning applications for the proposed new homes.
We look forward to meeting you at the Public Consultation.
